The Ocean Signal ATB1 Class B AIS transceiver incorporating the superior SOTDMA access scheme offers greater visibility and safety at sea.
Ocean Signal's fully compliant SOTDMA ATB1 Class B AIS transceiver is the latest in a long line of essential marine safety equipment developed and manufactured in the UK for the maritime market.
Designed as a collision avoidance aid, it offers a significant advantage in boating safety by giving you the peace of mind that your vessel will be seen day or night, regardless of the weather, on today's crowded waterways.
Vessel information such as position, speed, course and heading is automatically and continuously detected using the impressive internal multi-GPS receiver for accurate global positioning. Equipped with 99 acquisition channels and 33 tracking channels, this advanced technology ensures that AIS transmissions provide the most accurate indication of your vessel's position at all times.
Other information about the vessel, such as vessel name, call sign, type and size, as well as the MMSI are transmitted automatically by the ATB1. This information is uploaded to the ATB1 via WiFi directly from the Ocean Signal mobile app or website. Once this information has been loaded, it remains stored in the unit's non-volatile memory even if it is turned off for long periods of time.
The ATB1 also receives and interprets AIS messages from other AIS equipped vessels in range,
which can then be effortlessly transmitted to other navigation devices such as plotters
maps, laptops or cell phones using the ATB1 NMEA 0183, NMEA 2000 ®, USB or WiFi outputs.
Using the SOTDMA * superior access scheme distinguishes ATB1 from available CSTDMA ** class B products. This Class B Ocean Signal unit has the same AIS transmission priority as a Class A unit, giving the additional assurance that there will be no loss or delay in transmission, even in high traffic areas.
The ATB1 also has a faster signal rate and higher output power than Class B CSTDMA units. It sends AIS transmissions every 5 seconds instead of the maximum of two transmissions per minute and the output power of 5W instead of 2 W allows broadcasts to go farther.
A multicolored LED light on the ATB1 indicates the current operational status of the unit. This added safety feature gives you the confidence to know that the ATB1 has continuous AIS transmission and optimum performance. The ATB1 has a stylish yet rugged waterproof design that offers high performance and low power consumption.
It is quick and simple to install and comes complete with an external GPS antenna, meaning all you need is the use of a suitable device (mobile phone, tablet or PC) to upload information to your vessel and you can start broadcasting your AIS messages in minutes.
