An easy-to-use radio on any vessel See clearly in bright daylight with a high-contrast black-on-white display and inverted black-on-white mode. A rotary dial simplifies channel selection, while large buttons provide quick access to other key functions. Dedicated channel 16 buttons on both the radio and the ergonomically designed microphone provide instant access to the emergency channel. An included gimbal bracket allows for easy tabletop, overhead, or wall mounting. Flush installation is also possible thanks to a simple front-facing mounting solution that accommodates the low profile of Glass Bridge displays and accessories.
Approved Class D DSC device Digital Selective Calling (DSC) lets you easily maintain communication with other vessels and transmit your vessel's position in an emergency. In the event of a distress situation, the V20S's dedicated distress button initiates a DSC distress call, sending your vessel's position to anyone within VHF coverage. Used in conjunction with a standard radio distress call, this feature allows other vessels using DSC-compatible radios to register the situation and come to your aid. A built-in GPS receiver provides the ability to send your position even if other electronic equipment on board is disabled.
Easy access to all international channels The V20S radio is designed for global use and supports all international channels. With the Tri-Watch feature, you can easily scan between the current channel, emergency channel 16, and another user-configurable priority channel (in the U.S., you can scan between the current channel, emergency channel 16, and calling channel 9). Alternatively, you can scan all available channels or just selected favorite channels. Emergency channels can be prioritized during scanning to reduce the chance of missing distress calls or other urgent safety messages.
