AIS V3100 Class B

The V3100 Class B AIS solution features SOTDMA technology and increased transmit power, increasing transmission frequency, reliability and range compared to standard Class B AIS solutions. This ‘black box’ solution integrates with B&G displays and features an industry-leading level of connectivity.

More frequent and reliable transmission
The V3100 Class B AIS solution features the same SOTDMA technology as Class A solutions. This self-organizing transmission technology allows the system to negotiate regular transmissions with other AIS units within range, for more frequent and reliable transmission of position updates in high-traffic areas. The V3100 solution can transmit updates once every 5 seconds based on vessel speed, up to six times faster than a standard Class B AIS solution.

Greater transmission range
The V3100 solution has a maximum transmit power of 5 watts, 2.5 times higher than a standard Class B AIS solution. This transmit power allows vessels with the V3100 system to be detected on AIS at a greater range and provides more reliable transmission to satellite AIS receivers.

Integrated "black box" solution
This AIS black box solution is designed for use with Simrad multifunction displays and other marine electronics connected via the NMEA 2000® or NMEA 0183® standard. Output to a standard PC is also supported via USB connectivity. The V3100 solution is housed in a compact, IP67-rated waterproof housing and includes an SD card slot for standalone AIS data logging.
