Horizon HX891 Standard VHF with integrated GPS
HX891BT Portable VHF
The Standard Horizon HX891BT handheld VHF is a high performance 6W transmitter.
It offers features such as a 4-code scrambling system to ensure safe communications on the water. The VHF incorporates a built-in 66-channel WAAS GPS receiver that will allow you to make DSC distress calls by transmitting distress information such as GPS position with ultra-precision. The built-in GPS can also be used for navigation, recording 200 waypoints and 20 routes. Thanks to the 1800 mAh lithium battery, the HX891BT Standard Horizon VHF can operate for up to 11 hours, making it ideal for intensive and demanding use.
Finally, the Bluetooth function can be used to connect compatible headphones or to communicate with the crew on board. Data can be transferred and updates installed via the micro-USB port.

The HX891BT Standard Horizon is a DSC + GPS portable VHF that allows you to quickly communicate on a channel. The large dot-matrix display provides extremely precise and easy-to-read images, even in low light conditions. The intuitive menu and clear symbols make the radio easy to use, while night mode ensures optimal readability in the dark.
The HX891BT VHF is waterproof (IPX8) and floats. When dropped into water, a bright light automatically activates, so you never risk losing it. It also features a built-in FM broadcast receiver, so you can relax and listen to the radio.

D Buonasera Sig. Bianchi, mi scuso se le arriva due volte la mia domanda ma non ho capito se la prima volta è partita o meno. Sono interessato a questo vhf per la caratteristica dsc (lo uso prevalentemente a bordo quando sono da solo tendolo agganciato al giubbotto) e sui gommoni quando faccio scuola o regate coi nostri ragazzi. Ho solo il dubbio che il dsc su un portatile seppur potente poi non riesca a trasmettere la chiamata distress dal livello del mare (es in caso di abbandono della barca o caduta). È un dubbio non corretto? L’alternativa potrebbe essere un Icom IC-M37E senza GPS e senza dsc o anche lo stesso SH HX320 senza GPSe dsc. (Esperienza con due Cobra assolutamente negativa). Dovesse consigliare tra Icom e SH cosa direbbe?Vorrei anche prendere microfono con altoparlante. Grazie per condividere la sua solita competenza e utili consigli sulle scelte.
R 14/04/2026 Buongiorno, in merito alla sua richiesta, farei innanzitutto delle valutazioni sulla potenza in uscita, quindi il VHF in oggetto come il IC-M37, hanno entrambi 6W, quindi direi buona per un VHF portatile. Per quanto riguarda la funzione DSC, in caso di emergenza il VHF riuscirà certamente ad inviare la chiamata di Distress, però ovvio che avrà portata più limitata rispetto ad un VHF fisso con 25W di potenza. Icom o Standard Horizon sue entrambi marche molto valide. Cordiali saluti. Luigi Bianchi
D Buongiorno, non mi è chiaro se inserendo manualmente le coordinate di un punto mi possa condurre sullo stesso. In sostanza se posso usarla anche come sistema di navigazione ordinaria e non solo per le emergenze descritte. Vorrei maggiori informazioni in merito. Grazie, Saluti. Vito Procida
