Ocean Signal MOB2 with DSC distress call on VHF

  • Instant AIS and DSC alerts in case of MOB emergency
MOB2 instantly transmits your position via AIS and triggers a DSC distress call on your vessel's VHF radio, quickly sending a local alert to the crew and nearby vessels.
  • Perfect for the safety requirements of offshore and yacht racing
Used by competitive sailors and ocean racers, the MOB2 provides crew overboard protection that meets the demands of fast-paced, high-risk sailing environments.
  • GPS accuracy with automatic life jacket activation
Built-in GPS ensures accurate tracking, while automatic activation with life jacket inflation protects you from the moment you enter the water, hands-free.

Complies with ECC/DEC/(22)02 regarding the use of MOB devices.

Reporting a man overboard to your vessel is the fastest and most reliable recovery option. In rough seas, losing sight of a man overboard can happen extremely quickly. That's why Ocean Signal's latest rescueME MOB2 combines AIS and VHF DSC emergency technology into the latest M-Class AIS solution for the marine market.

Upon activation, the MOB2's position is updated regularly and displayed on an AIS-enabled plotter. Thanks to its integrated GPS, the MOB2 provides precise position data to your vessel and any supporting vessels. Nearby vessels are automatically alerted via VHF DSC in the event of a man overboard event. The MOB2 Ocean Signal is nearly half the size of competing products and fits perfectly inside inflatable life jackets. It also boasts longer operating life, automatic activation via an inflatable life jacket, two infrared and white strobe lights, and NFC connectivity via a mobile app.

Introducing the world's smallest AIS man-overboard (MOB) device with integrated VHF DSC: the rescueME MOB2 AIS from Ocean Signal. This essential piece of marine safety kit is designed for rapid response in the event of a man-overboard emergency. Compact and lightweight, the MOB2 integrates seamlessly with even the smallest inflatable life jackets, ensuring automatic activation upon inflation.

MOB2 sends the first alert within 15 seconds, transmitting your precise position via AIS technology to nearby vessels and onboard navigation systems. It communicates with the vessel you separated from and with other vessels up to 5 miles away, depending on conditions. Additionally, nearby vessels are immediately notified of the man-overboard situation via DSC technology.

In an emergency, the rescueME MOB2 AIS offers two methods to quickly communicate your position, accurate to within a few meters, and provides visual guidance via its integrated strobe lights. Its integrated dual infrared (IR) and white strobe lights ensure maximum visibility in low-light conditions, providing peace of mind for sailors and boaters, improving safety on the water, and potentially saving lives in critical situations. Waterproof to 10 meters, the MOB2 features a rugged construction and a long-lasting battery.

Smartphone connectivity via Near Field Communication (NFC)
NFC integration gives users the ability to conveniently program the MOB2 MMSI code and access beacon data from their mobile phone. Simply holding the phone close to the beacon automatically opens the Ocean Signal app and provides access to a variety of usage data, including current battery life, the number of self-tests completed, the number of GNSS tests completed, and, if applicable, the beacon's activation time.

Class M approved AIS man overboard beacon with VHF DSC
Designed to exceed Class M requirements, the MOB2 complies with the ECC/DEC/(22)02 regulation regarding the use of MOB devices.

Life jacket integration
The MOB2 can be activated manually or automatically when installed inside an inflatable (automatic) life jacket. Installation is simplified by the included oral inflation tube clip, which allows the MOB2 to be attached to the life jacket using a strap that attaches to the jacket's bladder. Once properly installed, inflating the life jacket activates the antenna and the signaling device.
