An exceptional 4 ′ antenna of rugged construction for general purpose communications. It is at home on T-top, hard-top and other high positions, where its small size can offer maximum range. The 5401-XT has a unique Galaxy black finish.

The best applications include: T-top and hard-top
VHF marine radios, with quality Shakespeare® antennas, are affordable and a prime need on most boats. VHF equipment is installed on all large ships and most small sea vessels and is also used on rivers and lakes. The VHF radio frequency range is 156.0 to 162.025 MHz. Transmitting power between 1 and 25 watts, with an effective range for small boats of approximately 5 nautical miles (9 km; 6 mi) between antennas.
