The FCV-800 combines the power of TruEcho CHIRP™ with a suite of revolutionary identification technologies to clearly distinguish fish from other structure, such as the seafloor or coral reefs.
Plus, it lets you use TruEcho CHIRP™ and CW technologies, like bottom discrimination and ACCU-FISH™, together for added functionality – helping you fish more effectively than ever before.
Traditional CW (continuous wave) fish finders transmit a single-frequency signal, while CHIRP fish finders transmit a linear frequency modulated signal, a wave whose frequency increases over time. The FCV600 and FCV800 can use a broadband transducer to transmit across a spectrum of frequencies, achieving improved target resolution. With Furuno's TruEcho CHIRP™, you'll see greater detail and unprecedented target separation.
Furuno's proprietary ACCU-FISH™ size assessment technology instantly identifies individual fish. To assess the size of individual fish, echo returns are analyzed for strength and displayed on the screen by size (from 10 to 199 cm, at a depth of 2 to 100 m).
(In some cases, the indicated fish size may differ from the actual size. Please read the operator's manual carefully before using this feature.)
The Bottom Discrimination feature allows the Fish Finder to indicate whether the bottom is primarily composed of rocks, gravel, sand, or mud, providing valuable information that helps you locate fishing spots and increase your catches. The standard graphical display mode shows the most likely bottom composition as a graph or four colors, while the Probability display mode shows the most likely bottom composition as a graph.
With the expanded color palette, the range of identifiable echoes is expanded so you can intuitively identify bottom fish from the seafloor. Coral reefs, structure, and fish near the seafloor are displayed in slightly separated colors, making it easy to distinguish structure from fish at a glance.
The Sunlight and Yellow color combinations offer improved visibility in bright sunlight.
A second display can be installed to show echo and navigation data from the FCV600 and FCV800 wirelessly, so you can monitor the underwater situation from the stern or bow while fishing.
RezBoost™ is a revolutionary signal processing technology developed by Furuno that improves resolution and target separation using conventional narrowband CW transducers.
With RezBoost™ you can expect higher resolution, sharper images and improvements in ACCU-FISH™ functionality.
RezBoost™ can significantly improve the capabilities of conventional narrowband transducers. Compared to traditional signal processing (FDF) techniques, a RezBoost™ fishfinder produces an image up to 8 times* clearer. What's possible with a conventional narrowband transducer, just like the one you might have installed on your boat, is truly impressive.**
*RezBoost™ performance may vary depending on depth, range and signal frequency used.
** Advanced mode for RezBoost™ compatible thru-hull or transom mount transducers.
By combining CHIRP and traditional CW transducers*, you'll see crisp CHIRP echoes on your screen while the ACCU-FISH™ and Bottom Discrimination features of your CW transducer work in the background, overlaying valuable information onto the CHIRP sonar chart. You'll see fish targets, estimated fish size, fish depth, and bottom composition.** You can save up to three frequencies as presets.
