Simrad Display AP44
The AP44 Autopilot Controller combines Simrad Continuum steering technology with a color display, intuitive rotary dial and button controls, and a modern glass helm. With this dedicated controller providing easy access to automatic turn patterns, No-Drift steering, Depth Contour Tracking (DCT) steering, and other advanced steering settings, you can take the helm and explore new ways to fish with confidence. Plus, connect your chartplotter to add waypoints or a navigation route and enjoy full autopilot control from compatible Simrad displays.

4.1-inch color display with optical coating
Having a comprehensive overview of heading, course, and status information is essential when relying on an autopilot. The AP44 autopilot controller accomplishes this task with color graphics and intuitive menus that display all the information in detail on the screen.

To ensure excellent visibility in any conditions, the AP44 features an optically coated LCD panel bonded to the protective glass, eliminating any possible condensation inside the display. Transflective LCD technology uses reflected sunlight to illuminate the screen instead of obscuring it, ensuring excellent daytime visibility and lower power consumption than conventional backlit displays.

Intuitive autopilot control
The purpose of a dedicated autopilot controller is to provide instant access to autosteering features, placing key commands within easy reach. Designed with this in mind, the AP44 autopilot controller features an intuitive interface with just four buttons and a rotary control for command input. The rotary control allows you to make small and large course changes with speed and precision, and easily select options from the on-screen menu without having to repeatedly press buttons.

Simrad Continuum steering technology
Simrad's innovative steering systems are the result of over 60 years of research in autopilot development, which continues today at the Simrad Yachting research center in Norway. This experience is the foundation of the Continuum algorithm, the software that powers Simrad steering technology. Continuum incorporates years of research and experience at sea, offering an intelligent pilot capable of reliably steering your vessel. Simrad autopilot solutions are available for a wide range of applications, from small pleasure boats to large commercial vessels.

Automatic turn patterns
The Simrad autopilot can do much more than just hold your course. The AP44 autopilot controller offers a suite of preset turn patterns designed to make fishing, diving, or simply turning your boat into a U-turn easier. Simply select the turn and select port or starboard. For even more control, you can customize the turn pattern to perform complex spirals, zigzags, and other useful maneuvers.

No Drift Government
No Drift mode combines GPS navigation with auto-steering, using the vessel's position to counteract wind and current. This allows you to maintain a precise heading over the ground while following your current destination, without having to manually set a waypoint or route. To enable this useful feature, you must connect the AP44 autopilot controller to a GPS receiver connected to the NMEA 2000® network or a compatible Simrad chartplotter.

DCT (Depth Contour Tracking)
The AP44 autopilot controller can connect to a compatible fishfinder to enable DCT steering. In this mode, the AP44 maintains a constant depth beneath the boat—ideal for following bottom contours while fishing or cruising, without having to plot a complex route with multiple waypoints.

Easy installation with automatic tuning
Autopilot installation and commissioning doesn't have to be a long, complicated process. The AP44 autopilot controller features automatic tuning to ensure optimal self-steering performance—all you need to do is follow a simple on-screen commissioning process, including dockside setup and a sea trial. The Simrad Precision-9 solid-state compass also features automatic calibration, further simplifying autopilot setup and ensuring the best possible heading accuracy.

Compact glass dashboard design
Designed to complement Simrad glass helm displays, instruments, and controls, the AP44 autopilot controller features a modern design with a slim 8mm mounting profile. Its compact size allows for mounting virtually anywhere, while the large display ensures maximum visibility and ease of use.

D Buongiorno. Vi contatto per chiedervi se il controllo AP44 è compatibile con il AC 42. Ho letto che con un adattatore nmea 2000 - SIMNET è possibile installare l’AP44. D Salve, durante una regata velica sotto un temporale mi è affogato il controller AP24. L'ho aperto in navigazione per vedere di asciugarlo, ma maldestramente ho rotto una parte del display. Diciamo che funziona ma non è più "operabile". Volendo "svecchiare" lo posso sostituire con l'AP44?
R 17-04-23 Buon pomeriggio, purtroppo non sono compatibili, le uniche soluzioni sono quelle di trovare un AP24 usato, o sostituire tutta la parte elettronica tranne il pistone. Cordiali saluti. Luigi Bianchi
D salve vorrei sapere se questo pilota va bn per un peschereccio di 22.6 metri buona serata
R 28-09-22 Buongiorno, questo è solo il display, dove si deve aggiungere tutta la parte elettronica e la pompa idraulica. Dovrei sapere anche le caratteristiche del pistone idraulica della timoneria. In definitiva, un pilota per un peschereccio completo di pompa può variare fra i 4/6.000,00 euro. Cordiali saluti. Luigi Bianchi
