B&G's RS40B range of VHF radios offer the option of a Class B AIS receiver (RS40) or transceiver (RS40B), which not only receives AIS targets but also transmits the yacht's position to AIS equipped vessels in the vicinity. This will allow other mariners to locate your vessel in all conditions, day or night. AIS information can be displayed on the radio's built-in screen or overlaid onto the chart or radar screen using a compatible chartplotter.
Removable ergonomic grip microphone
The RS40-B radio's detachable ergonomic grip microphone can be attached to the front or rear of the radio, and optional extension cables allow the radio and microphone to be installed separately. This ensures a simple and cost-effective solution for any installation location, without cable clutter. For example, the RS40-B radio can be suspended, with no hanging cables, while the microphone is plugged into an extension cord socket on the console.
Expandable with wireless handset
Add an optional wireless handset to take the radio anywhere on board. The HS40 handset has been designed as an intuitive portable companion to the HS40 radio. Each handset duplicates the radio's display and controls, allowing remote access to all key functions. Up to two wireless handsets can be connected to one base station. With multiple handsets connected, the HS40 radio also becomes a practical on-board intercom.
