CHOOSING THE ELECTRIC BOW MOTOR FOR ANCHOR FUNCTION
In this article, we aim to help you choose the most suitable bow thruster to install on your boat.
Bow engines are installed on the front of the boat. It is usually recommended to also include brackets, which allow for easy removal for storage.
The engines work in traction, for better control of the vessel both when sailing and in automatic anchoring mode.
Ideal for staying still in one spot
"without having to drop anchor" or for trolling, in the latter case important factors are sea conditions and size of the boat, so it is not always possible.
The main factors for choosing the motor are two: thrust and shaft length.

Particular attention instead to the height of the stem .
Depending on the mounting point of the motor, it is essential to know the height above the "water surface", this is because it is very important to avoid having the motor propeller that is not able to deliver the thrust necessary for the electronic anchor function or for small trolling, therefore we must evaluate that there is the possibility that the body of the motor where the propeller is located is
immersed in water for at least 50cm .
Then check the height (H) of the drawing below.
This table indicates the recommended stem height above the bow waterline of the boat.
