Garmin Reactor™ 40 Autopilot for Hydraulic Steering with SmartPump v2
The most responsive and precise autopilot ever 9-axis solid-state AHRS (Attitude Heading Reference System) compass
Reduction of deviation and course errors, rudder movement with lower electrical consumption
It is easy to install and very simple to calibrate
SmartPump v2, compact and brushless, fits most boats with hydraulic steering
Patented Shadow Drive™ technology allows you to maintain control of the vessel in case the situation requires a quick maneuver or an emergency procedure
It's an indispensable aid during navigation, such as when you need to leave the helm to perform other tasks or control other onboard devices. Discover the performance of the innovative hydraulic autopilot by pairing it with the versatile, reliable, and innovative SmartPump v21.
9-axis solid-state AHRS technology Advanced 9-axis solid-state AHRS technology makes the system easy to install and simple to calibrate, minimizing heading errors, course deviations, rudder movement and power consumption, allowing for a more comfortable navigation experience for all onboard.
Full integration with Garmin chartplotters You can take complete control of the Reactor 40 from your chartplotter screen. When combined with a compatible Garmin network chartplotter and BlueChart® g2 Vision® charts, optional features are available, such as Auto Guidance,2 which automatically steers along GPS routes.
SmartPump v2 Actuator The exclusive SmartPump v2 actuator fits most boats with hydraulic steering. The new Reactor 40 with SmartPump automatically adjusts the maximum flow rate and, thanks to a brushless motor, eliminates the direct electrical connection between the control circuit and the rotor. This ensures greater reliability, longer pump life, reduced fuel consumption, quieter operation, improved thermal performance, and greater efficiency. For maximum reliability, the SmartPump features corrosion-resistant components, including black paint on aluminum parts and nickel plating on all steel parts.
Particularly suitable for installation on boats with Mercury Verado engines.
Intelligent Rudder Rate Technology Thanks to Intelligent Rudder Rate (IRRT) technology, the Reactor 40 autopilot with SmartPump v2 slows the rudder rate at high speeds and accelerates it at lower speeds (from 0 to 2.4 liters per minute). This optimizes performance and safety in all conditions. Furthermore, the brushless motor eliminates the risk of rudder hardover, preventing possible hardware or software failures.
Enjoy a more durable system Marine environments are harsh, especially at sea. That's why our SmartPump v2 is weatherproof. SmartPump v2 is designed with corrosion-resistant components, including anodized aluminum and nickel-plated steel parts.
Cutting-edge technology for automatic piloting With the Reactor 40 with SmartPump v2 aboard your vessel, you have complete control from anywhere on board. In addition to holding your course in all weather and wind conditions, the system can easily perform numerous preprogrammed trolling and search procedures. Additionally, with a compatible Garmin network chartplotter and BlueChart g2 Vision cards (sold separately), optional features are available, such as Auto Guidance,2 which automatically steers your vessel according to GPS guidance.
Always stay in control with Shadow Drive technology The Reactor 40 with SmartPump v2 features Shadow Drive technology. This gives you complete control even when the autopilot is engaged. Shadow Drive technology automatically disengages the autopilot with every turn of the helm, allowing you to maneuver the vessel. The autopilot automatically reengages when you maintain a steady course.
Connecting to network devices The Reactor 40 autopilot with SmartPump v2 for boats with hydraulic steering is operated using up to three GHC control heads. GHC communicates with the autopilot system via NMEA 2000® networking, allowing you to easily share autopilot heading data with other devices. This enables MARPA and chart overlay when connected to a Garmin chartplotter. An optional handheld wireless remote is also available; however, for maximum convenience, control the GHC with a compatible quatix® 3 or quatix 5 multisport marine smartwatch.
GRF™ 10 Sensor Add an optional GRF™10 rudder reference sensor to further enhance the performance of your Reactor 40 autopilot with SmartPump v2.
1 A compatible Garmin chartplotter is required
2 Auto Guidance is for planning purposes only and does not replace safe navigation operations.
